Jos Buttler of England continued his amazing success in the Indian Premier League with his second century of the season for Rajasthan Royals.
Buttler, the leading run-scorer in the 2022 IPL, struck 103 off 61 balls in the Royals’ exciting triumph over the Kolkata Knight Riders.
He became only the sixth player in IPL history to record multiple hundreds in the same season, as his team finished 217-5.
KKR were in a good position to catch the Royals, but Yuzvendra Chahal’s hat-trick enabled the Royals win by seven runs.
Buttler struck nine fours and five sixes before being caught at fine leg by Pat Cummins in the 17th over.
It is his third IPL century, following a century against the Mumbai Indians earlier this season.
Buttler, who scored 97 runs for the first wicket with Devdutt Padikkal and reached three figures by hitting Australia Test skipper Cummins for a massive six over long-on, has 375 runs at an average of 75 in six IPL matches this season.
He is 140 runs ahead of India and Lucknow Super Giants hitter KL Rahul in the run-scoring table.
As KKR surged to 178-4, opener Aaron Finch struck 58 from 28 balls and skipper Shreyas Iyer a 51-ball 85, leaving them requiring 40 from 24 balls.
However, India spinner Chahal got four wickets in the 17th over, including Shreyas as part of his hat-trick, to help the Royals win the game.
Number ten In the following over, Umesh Yadav hammered Trent Boult for two sixes, but with 11 needed from the final six balls, West Indies left-armer Obed McCoy claimed the final two wickets.
