Mitchell Marsh, an Australian all-rounder, was rushed to the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19 during the Indian Premier League.
Marsh’s IPL side, the Delhi Capitals, stated that his health is being “closely followed” by their medical personnel.
There have been more cases at the Capitals, but they are all asymptomatic.
Marsh, 30, made his IPL debut on Saturday, when the Capitals were defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore by a score of 16 runs.
The remaining Capitals players are being isolated in their hotel rooms and will be tested on a regular basis, according to the team.
The Capitals’ next IPL match, against the Punjab Kings, has been shifted from Pune to Mumbai on Wednesday.
The site had been moved “to avoid any subsequent incident owing to any undiscovered case during a long-distance bus travel in a closed environment,” according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
