Kumar Sangakkara’s Big Statement On Jos Buttler’s Performance In IPL 2022

Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler was on fire vs Royal Challengers Bangalore in Qualifier 2 of the current IPL 2022 on Friday at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The right-handed hitter then batted unbeaten for 106 runs to enable Rajasthan chase down 158 runs with seven wickets in hand and 11 balls to spare. As a consequence of this victory, Rajasthan has qualified for the IPL 2022 final, where they will face Gujarat Titans on Sunday at the same stadium.

At a post-game news conference, RR Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara stated that it is difficult to put into words what Buttler has done for the franchise this season and that he cannot recall anybody else batting this well in the tournament’s history.

“It’s difficult to put into words what he’s done for us in terms of Twenty20 batting in Indian Premier League 2022 season.” He started out so wonderfully that he had a tiny flutter since he started out so beautifully. He was rehearsing at one point throughout the event, but then he calmed down and had a lot of excellent talks instead. He recognized he was mortal, a human, and that he couldn’t keep up that level of brilliance every day.” Sangakkara answered to an Indian television NDTV question at a virtual news conference.

And to understand how you reach to that level at different stages of the game, some days you have to battle and look awful, while other days your rhythm is there, and the reality is that you can’t fight the circumstance; you just have to settle in and construct the innings. He can accelerate at any time since he has all of the strokes. He’s a kind man that knows his way around the game. I can’t recall anyone batting this brilliantly in the IPL’s history “He went on to say.

Buttler has four hundreds in the current edition, making him only the second hitter after Virat Kohli to achieve four tons in a single tournament.

Buttler is also only the third batsman in IPL history to score more than 800 runs in a single season. Previously, both Indian Cricket Player Virat Kohli and Australian Cricket player David Warner hit more than 800 runs in 2016.

Joe Buttler has 824 runs scored in 16 matches this season.
